Ceramic Faux Wood Dachshund Mug
HE IS BACK! Well, almost! Thank you for loving this mug so much. The new batch is just about ready and should resume shipping around September 13 (just one week). You can reserve your's now!
This is one of the most special items I have ever offered at Blade + Blue.
There was a time in my life when I felt a little lost, there was a different path that I needed to take but I just couldn't find it. One night, I began to build the inspiration board for what would eventually become Blade + Blue: fabric swatches, pictures of my dad's great style from the 1950's, color chips and some vintage accessories.
I was completely enveloped in this inspiration and when I finally looked up, my dachshund Gavin was sitting right with me. He was staring up at me with a look in his eyes that told me that I had found my new path. Gavin and that look are captured in the logo that you see on Blade + Blue caps, tees, sweaters, polos and now this beautiful mug.
Each mug was handmade by my talented friend, Bryan Cronk. Bryan is a wildly talented artist and I urge you to check out more of his work at www.BryanCronk.com. Bryan produces each of his pieces by hand out of his studio in Long Island City, NY. His signature style mixes exaggerated, earthy textures with unpredictable glazes to stunning effect.
He created the faux wood exterior with brown stoneware clay and used a french blue glaze to make that striking interior. (The textures & colors kind of remind of me wood and denim). Bryan then embossed each mug with the Blade + Blue dachshund logo. I really cannot get over how much this mug means to me.
Each mug measures approximately 3.75" tall and 3.5" wide (not including the handle) and is safe for microwave use.
While the mugs are dishwasher safe, the maker recommends hand washing because over time, the harshness of the washer can erode the beautiful glaze.
Don't forget, each mug is made by hand, so no two are exactly alike!
I hope you love 'em!
Everything was great from ordering, asking questions and delivery information! Thank you so much!
